Timeline

1940s

Kinequip, formerly known as R.S. Brookman and Associates, traces its roots back to 1940 when it was founded by R.S. Brookman in Buffalo, NY with the purpose to provide quality solutions for its customers.

1960s - 1980s

In 1964, Kinequip took over the company’s leadership, and in 1967, Sam Mistretta joined the team. Robert Brookman retired from the joint office in Rochester and Buffalo in 1980.

Over the years, Kinequip has continuously grown and eagerly embraced opportunities for development, expanding its reach to new locations in Amherst, Syracuse, and Rochester, NY.

In 1988, Kinequip extended its reach even further by launching a new southern branch in Greenville, SC, under the leadership of John Mistretta. This expansion not only facilitated the company’s continuous growth but also paved the way for establishing new vendor partnerships, highlighting Kinequip’s ongoing efforts to expand its presence.

1990s

In 1994, Kinequip made strategic acquisitions, including Northeast Compressor. The following year, they further expanded by acquiring Trent & Neilson, a hardware store specializing in air compressor repairs.

2000s

In 2000, Kinequip continued to expand its operations by opening a Canadian office. This move enabled them to further develop their capabilities in value-added design and manufacturing, supported by successful collaborations with an ever-growing clientele.

Throughout its journey, Kinequip has maintained a commitment to progress, adapting to new opportunities, and forging valuable partnerships that demonstrate its continuous expansion.
